I'd always believed if given the opportunity, drummers would create music on the instrument they loved, but they needed tools to compose, perform and record!
With that as the preface, I set out to build a module for the journeyman Electro Percussionist and find the missing link that would turn Spacemuffins® into the "wood weighted keyboard equivalent of the drum world"
In 1998 we introduced the Spacemuffins 0.0 Module® at winter NAMM.
It was then and is now, the most powerful Electro-Percussion tool ever offered to drummers.
This module that has stood the test of time as a piece so utilitarian in function that as long as MIDI is a viable medium, it will never be obsolete.
It's ability to deliver real world dynamics, sensitivity and response, is legendary. And the "clean sample" onboard sound library afforded the flexibility for sounds to be stacked, detuned and gated via unprecedented mapping features and programming, sophisticated enough to impress even the most jaded studio rat.
It's as viable today as it was when we introduced it in '98. And even eleven plus years after its introduction, the 0.0 still stands alone with features unparalleled by any manufacturer
We've never treated Electro percussion as a passing phase and planned obsolescence has never been part of our corporate philosophy.
The 0.0 Module is a direct extension of that philosophy!
Creating this module was a wild ride…and the best is yet to come!
Detailed functions and feature of the "0.0 Revision I" will be posted periodically in a video format on our BTFB so please click on the link and "like" the page to access those updates.
The "Revision I" will include all the features that made the original 0.0 one of the finest drum modules ever produced, as well powerful new processing and state of the art programing functions.

“ The 0.0 is three rack spaces high, making it larger than any other sound module on the market. But the rack-ready design is one of several amenities that suggest this baby is aimed at serious gigging professionals”
Rich Watson, Modern Drummer Review
“The 0.0 tracks great! I tried it with two different brands of electronic pads and I’ve got to say that the module made the pads feel more sensitive than they have in the past. Adjusting pads or triggers is really a snap! Adjust the gain with the knob on the front panel, and if that’s not perfect, make minor adjustments to the threshold and cross-talk values in the editing mode.”
Norm Weinberg, DRUM! Crash Test
"The trigger module is a well thought out interface that has 10 input trigger channels, menu screen and an edit/select area. Each of the 10 trigger input channels are set up like a conventional mixing board. The
manual has a quick-start section that gets you plugged in and slamming immediately. And thanks to the well-designed interface, accessing the advanced features takes only 15 minutes. The module supports standard
on-off modes as well as random, roll and high-hat modes. Random and roll modes access different sounds with each successive trigger. Trigger times are not an issue with this module and with 16 MIDI channels and
64-note polyphony, this is a fully functioning MIDI unit."
