Pricing & FAQ

Basic 5 Pc "There's really no set price list per say, as everything I build is (by definition) custom
made and trigger specific to the module(s) you'll be using The three series I offer (Micro Bop, Bop Dlx and Classic) are $1899, $2199 and $2499 respectively,
in a standard stock, solids or patterned wraps with Chrome hdwr. Sparkles, Glass Glitters and Chrome or Brass finishes add $95 and there are
colored lugs and hoops available as well, however those prices tend to fluctuate. All 3 series come
with the option of center post, mounted toms ($75 extra) so no rack system is required. The internal wiring option (about $400) eliminates all visible wires to one snake coming off the
bass drum (only available on the Bop Dlx and Classic Series) Options are pretty much unlimited and custom
logos or graphics can be incorporated into any wrap or bass drum head made from existing designs or design you provide.
Average for this option is between $300 to $500. That would cover the fully baffled electronic sets. X Series and Acoustics The "X Series Electro Acoustic" and BT Acoustics
kits (see description on the website) are a whole different price structure. If you’re playing Arena Shows,
you'd probably love the X Series and the BT Acoustics are the exact same construction minus the embedded sensors.
These are all custom built and I'm happy to quote you a price based on any configuration you provide. Just forward
your email containing the sizes you'd like quoted in a "Depth
x Diameter" format and preferred finish and I'll get back to you ASAP.
All prices
are for drums only! Hardware As a courtesy to all my customers who purchase sets, I do
offer Hdwr packages. All hardware is via Gibraltar or Dixon at "dead cost". So, that would be the basic price structure.
Are Spacemuffins Silent? The
Muffins are completely electronic (in the Classic, Bop Dlx and Micro Bop Series) but were never designed to be 'silent"
as you’d experience with a mesh head.
Each pad (and they are pads) emits a beautiful sonic report or "thwack" when you lay into them.
Everyone on the stage will love the fact that they can still feel the drums behind them but the sounds are coming through
the monitors. Your bass player will think he died and went to heaven. I built these for drums for live and digital studio
applications. Aside from that, they have no acoustic value.
Can They Be Played in an Apartment?
I have many customers who
play them in apts and condos without issue. Only suggestion is to
make sure you put the bass drum (mine or anyone else's) on a carpet as the very action of the stomping the foot pedal,
will cause an annoying thump if you have neighbors below you.
Can Spacemuffins be Played with Mesh Heads In short, the answer would be, no. Yes,
I understand the popularity of the mesh head sets. I've watched every other e-drum company in this industry,
cave in and convert to a technology that (IMHO) simply does not, play, track, trigger, respond or in any way enhance, the
experience of electric drumming. I do not now (nor have I ever) built
to anyone else’s spec, rules or standards and if the rest of the industry wants to embrace mesh, so be it.
I designed Spacemuffins™ for drummers to
access digital technology without sacrificing the look, feel, sensitivity or dynamics of their acoustic set and to assure
retention of the muscles “motor memory” making that transition from acoustics’ to electric’s
and back, as seamless as possible.
In my shop, Electric Drums are still alive and well. My commitment to build
the “wood weighted keyboard equivalent of the drum world” is unwavering. For those reasons, Spacemuffins™ will never incorporate a mesh head
